Port Forwarding and Reverse Proxies

If you have a more complicated setup for your Wall Connector (i.e., not using a direct connection), you can set up Wall Monitor in Advanced mode simply by performing a manual setup and adding http:// or https:// at the start of your address. The app will detect this and provide you with the option to enter any type of address you prefer.

Security

It is not recommended to expose your Wall Connector to the internet via port forwarding. Wall Connectors are not designed to be directly accessible on the internet and lack any built-in security measures. If you wish to set up remote access, a Reverse Proxy with a username and password is a good option, while a VPN is the best option.

Passwords can be set in Wall Monitor by adding them to the URL, like this: http://username:[email protected].
